The President's Commission on the Status of Women at IUP previous hosted a Sex and Gender Conference. The third such conference took place on Thursday, April 12, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Hadley Union Building.
It offered a full day of interdisciplinary panels, films, workshops, and presentations by students and faculty members.
Presenting the keynote address, “Is Sex More Like Dancing or Digestion? Unpacking the Dangers and Complexities of the Medicalization of Sexuality,” was Leonore Tiefer, Ph.D., psychiatry professor, therapist, and activist.
The event also featured 16 concurrent sessions and three films.
