The President's Commission on the Status of Women at IUP is part of a larger network of such commissions at all member universities of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø State System of Higher Education.
All are charged with examining the status of women at the individual universities, identifying areas that need improvement, recommending solutions for problems, promoting networking, and encouraging leadership among women.
The Women's Commission at IUP supports multiple programs across the campus and is actively involved in various leadership groups. Programs receiving funding support or active participation from the Women's Commission include:
-
Take Back the Night (Sponsored by the Haven Project)
-
Women's and Gender Studies Initiatives and Events
-
Lavender Graduation (Sponsored by the LGBTQIA+ Support Office and the LGBTQIA+ Commission)
