The College of Health Sciences includes a diverse group of applied disciplines. The college houses three departments offering applied learning in health and health-realted fields.

Divisional Units/Regional Campuses

At IUP Punxsutawney, you will find an environment that gives you the freedom to find your strengths and prepares you to meet life’s challenges.

This regional campus enables many students to receive a university education while commuting, thereby greatly reducing the cost (and loan debt) of their education.

The libraries of IUP provide support for teaching, research, and the personal enrichment of members of the university community.

IUP offers 48 graduate programs, including 13 doctoral programs.

Offices

The Office of the Registrar provides scheduling, record keeping, and registration services for the university.

IT Services provides technology support to students, faculty and support staff for the centralized computing environment at IUP through the IT Support Center.

The Office of International Education serves as an umbrella for the university’s many international initiatives, programs, and events.

Programs

The Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps teaches students leadership and management skills that help prepare them for successful careers—in the US Army or in civilian life.

The Women’s and Gender Studies minor is designed to increase the students’ interdisciplinary knowledge about the gendered nature of women’s experiences and the ways that gender, sexuality, and other identities shape and are shaped by history, culture, and society in today’s challenging, diverse, and complex world.

All students must fulfill the requirements of the university’s Liberal Studies program.

Centers and Institutes

The Writing Across the Curriculum program provides support for faculty universitywide in implementing writing into their courses. The program aims to create and sustain a community of writers at IUP.

The Center for Teaching Excellence seeks to provide constructive and developmental mechanisms for nurturing the excellence in teaching which already exists at IUP.

The American Language Institute offers full-time, noncredit programs of intensive English for international students and visitors.

Committees

The Academic Computing Policy Advisory Committee recommends policy related to technology in support of the academic mission.
