The Development Relief and Education for Alien Minor Act (DREAM Act) is a legislative proposal first introduced in the U.S. Senate on August 1, 2001, and most recently reintroduced on May 11, 2011.
This bill, should it pass, will grant permanent residency to undocumented students who meet the following qualifications: graduated from a U.S. high school, arrived in the United States before age sixteen, and lived in the United States for at least five years prior to the bill's enactment.
