Following a nearly five percent increase in overall student enrollment for fall 2023 at ϳԹ, retention of new, first-time, full-time, bachelor’s degree seeking students from fall 2023 to fall 2024 has climbed to 75.3 percent, a more than four percentage point increase from fall 2022 to fall 2023 retention of that group.

ϳԹ’s annual Homecoming celebration on October 5 is expected to draw thousands to Indiana for alumni reunions and events for the entire community, including the annual parade and football game.

On March 7, 2024, ϳԹ’s Council of Trustees reviewed IUP President Michael Driscoll’s recommendation of reducing the overall cost of enrollment for dual enrollment students, resulting in savings ranging from $104.50 (for a one-credit course) to $3,344 in savings for students who take 32 credits in four semesters.

On November 2, 2023, the IUP community held the ribbon cutting ceremony for Kopchick Hall, which will be the home of IUP’s Kopchick College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics when it opens in January 2024. The facility, and the college, are named in honor of IUP alumni John ’72, M ’75 and Char Labay Kopchick ’73, who committed $23 million––the largest gift in IUP history––for natural science and mathematics initiatives.
